Ekium assists the "paper giant" : Norske Skog !
Since 2020, Ekium has been acting as prime contractor to convert a newsprint production line to manufacture 100% recycled and recyclable cardboard.
Norske Skog Golbey (NSG) is launching the production of recycled packaging paper in response to climate change. The company wants to use this project as a springboard to become a player in the circular economy.

The BOX project involves :
- Converting a newsprint production line into a paperboard production line
- Transforming pulp preparation
- Converting wood storage
- Converting water treatment
- Creating an automated storage building
Our missions:
On this project, our teams were entrusted with .
- Defining the project during the basic study
- Detailed study and preparation of tender documents
- Comparing and validating bids
- Monitoring and validating the execution studies of the suppliers and companies selected for the works contracts (ongoing)
Key figures:
- 250M investment
- 330,000 t of newsprint produced
- 550,000 t of packaging paper produced
- 450,000 t of recycled recovered paper
- 610,000 t of recycled recovered cardboard
- 20 additional direct jobs created
- Around 200 indirect jobs with service providers (logistics, maintenance, etc.)
- 350 current jobs secured
