Environmental Hazard Studies

We assist operators in drafting and updating their regulatory files (DDAE) and Hazard Studies to control industrial risks and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Need support?

Every Classified Facility for Environmental Protection (ICPE) subject to authorization undergoes assessments to evaluate the impacts and inherent risks associated with its operations, its environment, and its organizational structure. The operator can then implement the necessary measures to control or prevent these effects.

With extensive experience in industrial risk management, we offer assistance in drafting and updating the DDAE (Environmental Authorization Application) and/or EDD (Hazard Study) as part of a comprehensive support process (master plan, baseline assessment) and provide consulting on projects that go beyond simply preparing the application.

Our Impact Assessment

  • Analysis of the site’s initial condition and the environments likely to be affected,

  • Assessment of cumulative impacts with other existing or approved projects,

  • Assessment of activities in relation to BAT (Best Available Techniques),

  • Projection of the baseline scenario in the absence of the project,

  • Analysis of direct or indirect effects on the environment,

  • Descriptions of the methods used and the authors of the study,

  • Verification of the project’s compatibility,

  • Impact mitigation measures,

  • Post-operation restoration measures.

Our hazard study

  • Identification, characterization, and mitigation of potential hazards,

  • Analysis of internal and external accident history,

  • Preliminary risk assessments and selection of scenarios for detailed analysis,

  • Modeling of scenario effects,

  • Detailed risk analysis and evaluation of each scenario,

  • Mapping of effects and the bow tie diagram,

  • Characterization and classification of the various phenomena,

  • Evaluation of the barriers identified in the study,

  • Assessment of domino effect risks.

We also offer

  • Participation in monitoring the review of the DAE or EDD by the DREAL,

  • Participation in discussions with the project owner, project manager, and subcontractors,

  • Analysis of Best Available Technologies,

  • Regulatory compliance with standard decrees,

  • Preparation of compliance documentation, re-examination documentation, and notification documents,

  • The Internal Operations Plan (POI).

Administrative context

  • Identity of the applicant,

  • Project location and land ownership,
